El Pomar Foundation Approves $147500 to Slv Organizations

Foundation: El Pomar Foundation

The El Pomar Foundation has awarded more than $140,000 in grants to six Colorado nonprofit organizations, including $5,000 to the Alamosa Bicycle Coalition, $10,000 to the Center for Restorative Programs, and $50,000 to the Sanford School District for a school-based clinician, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

According to a press release, the El Pomar Foundation was founded in 1937 by Spencer and Julie Penrose, who wanted to give back to the communities in which they lived and worked.

Since then, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million in grants to hundreds of organizations.

The grants were awarded through the foundation's grant-making process, the Gazette reports.
